Reid Fetters

local Business owner and entrepreneur

I hail from the Crossroads of America, better known as Indiana, and am living proof that there’s more than corn in Indiana. Google it! After spending nearly 15 years on the east coast, I craved a change in both scenery and lifestyle. The Pacific Northwest (PNW) presented itself as the ideal opportunity for a fresh start. Despite the challenging timing of launching my own business just months before a pandemic hit, I embraced the situation.

The initial two years in Tacoma came with obstacles, a result of the COVID aftermath, but I remained optimistic about the city’s potential for growth. Reflecting on the past, Tacoma Rising was my endeavor to revive an in-person sense of “community” during the summer of 2021. I believed that gathering like-minded Tacoma enthusiasts could generate momentum, although I had no clear vision of where it might lead. Early meetings involved conversations about Tacoma and its current events, utilizing social media to highlight positive developments in the area. We employed basic engagement strategies to bring people together.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2023, and we introduced our monthly tours, focusing on three straightforward goals: Promote, Connect, & Support. It was at this point that things began to fall into place, and we started gaining traction.
